Kew Wind Orchestra are delighted to be invited to take part in the first National Concert Band Symposium to both compete in the competition and perform in the evening's Gala concert. For the competition KWO will be re-joined by Musical Director Rob Wiffin OBE and will perform the 4th movement of Kenneth Hesketh's 'Danceries (part 2)', Frank Ticheli's 'Rest' and Martin Ellerby's Malcolm Arnold Variations. For the evening's Gala concert KWO will be playing the first half with the RAF Central Guards band following in the second half. KWO will be performing under the baton of renowned composer/arranger Johan De Meij a repertoire of Eric Whitacre's 'Equus', the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto featuring London Symphony Orchestra's principal trumpet Phil Cobb, and Johan's first ever published arrangement 'Moments of Morricone'.

The Mayor's next charity event will be a wonderful evening of 'Spring'-themed music featuring the Kew Wind Orchestra.
Doors open at 7:15pm with the performance starting promptly at 7:30pm on 1 May 2014.
Tickets cost £12.50 per person (includes a free welcome drink) with all proceeds going to the Mayor's charities, Home-Start, Richmond and The Avenue Club, Kew.
